I’m super pumped to talk about this new DeWalt 20-Volt MAX Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Jigsaw today. I’ve talked a little bit here and there in recent posts about good Christmas gifts for the new or experienced DIY’er and this falls right into that category. This DeWalt Cordless Jigsaw is an easy to use saw that has the ability to cut through a variety of materials. The DeWalt Cordless Jigsaw is a great option for a “first power saw” hence why I said it would make a great gift this holiday season.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Dewalt 20v Cordless JIgsaw

The DeWalt DCS334B 20-Volt MAX XR (R ) Cordless Jig Saw features an efficient motor for powerful performance and extreme run time. The DeWalt Cordless Jigsaw gives you ample control when working on projects and allows you to precisely control blade speed up to 3,200 SPM with the variable speed trigger and dial giving you professional results no matter what you’re cutting. The 4-position orbital action lets you adjust for optimal cutting of a variety of materials. With these kind of options, the DeWalt Cordless Jigsaw really stands out as a saw that gives you precision and optimal cutting capabilities. The DeWalt Cordless Jigsaw has a bright LED light that illuminates dim work surfaces and makes it easy to follow cut lines. Not all jigsaws have this feature and it really is a nice extra to have in the event that you need it. The DeWalt Cordless Jigsaw also has an updated, all-metal lever action keyless blade clamp that is designed for quick and easy blade changes of t-shank jigsaw blades. I had no problem easily changing the blade on this thing which makes a difference when you’re in the zone working on a project. Also keyless, the shoe bevel is easy to adjust with detents at 0, 15, 30 and a positive stop at 45. A removable shoe cover helps protect materials from scratches and integrated dust blower helps remove dust and debris from your line of sight as you cut. Once again, this feature is not necessary but nice to have and puts the DeWalt Cordless Jigsaw above the competition. Like I said, this is a great option for someone who is looking to purchase their first power saw or someone who is looking to upgrade to something cordless with some nice add on features.

PRICING:

At a price of $179.00 for the tool only, this is a pricey tool. Now, i would categorize it as a high end tool, and one of the best cordless jigsaws I have used. But with that, and being brand new, always comes that hike in price. Also, should be only considering this tool when you're in the DeWalt platform with 20v batteries already.

MY THOUGHTS:

Dewalt 20v Cordless JIgsaw

The DeWalt 20v Cordless Jigsaw is an amazing tool. I was truly impressed with not only the quality of the cut, but the quality you feel when the tool is in your hand. I personally prefer a barrel handle jigsaw as I feel like i get a more accurate cut with it. But, that being said, I think the handle and setup of this tool is very very nice. It feels firm and well made. For A PRO who uses a jigsaw on a daily basis, this is a solid buy and a great upgrade.
