In my line of work, if something is off even the slightest bit it can really mess up an entire project. The Empire 16in. True Blue Digital Box Level is a great way to prevent leveling mistakes and ensure your work is accurate and top notch. The Empire Box Level is a prime example of Empire's commitment to providing makers with accurate, high quality, tools. This thing is also virtually indestructible, which is a nice quality to have when using it at job sites, and even in the shop. Now lets talk about what this thing really can do…

My favorite thing about the Empire Box Level is that it is auto-calibrated and includes seven measuring modes. This is huge when you’re on the job. With 7 different modes, you are guaranteed to be covered measurement-wise. Another one of my favorite features on this level is the fact that it provides precision milled edges, and guarantees .0005 in. accuracy. To have something be so accurate is absolutely vital in my line of work and this tool surpasses all expectations when we're talking about accuracy. Another awesome feature of this product that puts it above the competition is that it has a dual backlit digital display that also happens to be the largest display in the industry. I sometimes find myself taking measurements in places that don’ t have ideal lighting so the backlight is crucial to me. Another cool feature of the Empire Box Level is that it is available in both magnetic and non-magnetic models which gives you some options based on how you plan on using it. Lastly, the durability of this thing is something that need to be elaborated on. The Empire Box True Blue Digital Level is IP65 rated to give unsurpassed protection against dust, water, and any extreme job condition you can think of. Having a durable tool is something every maker values and Empire does an awesome job making its tools durable and long lasting.
Coming in right under $100, the Empire True Blue Digital Box Level costs $99.00. I feel this is an extremely reasonable price for such a high quality and accurate box level. While it is pricier than your standard box level, the features are definitely worth the price. Additionally, all models that are 24in. and above come with a nice carrying case.
A solid box level is a must for professionals and DIY’ers. Whether its hanging shelves, or helping friends or family hang something on the wall, we have all been in a situation where we needed a level that is highly visible and reliable. Digital is an awesome feature but not an absolute must for me. There is a slight learning curve when figuring out how to use it, so keep that in mind. I compare it to the speedometer in a car, most of us are used to a gauge that moves along as we drive, but when you drive a car with a digital speedometer you don't hate it. This is the same concept. It’s a nice feature once you get used to it, and is much clearer with the big bright display. All in all i would say the Empire Box Level is a solid buy for anyone looking for a good quality upgrade to their levels. It is definitely a bonus that it is made very well and should last a very long time.
