Dremel Multi-Max Oscillating Tool MM45

A multi-tool is always nice to have. Im going to be honest. Even in a woodshop. For weird places like sanding the corner of a drawer box, or cutting a wire slot out in the back of a cabinet, it is always a nice tool to have around. So like most tools, you want something that is reliable and affordable. That my friends, is where the Dremel Multi-Max Oscillating Tool MM45 comes in. Im not kidding when I say this tools is great for doing detailed work or accessing tight spaces.

Multi tools have tons of functions, hence the name.... But with that, you're typically looking for a few standard applications. For standard operations, this tool ideal for sanding, cutting wood and drywall, and grout removal. It even comes with Includes 5 blades, hook and loop pad, 21 sanding sheets and more to acomodate those special needs that a multi-tool is perfect for.

SPECIFICATIONS:

The Dremel Multi-Max Oscillating Tool MM45, is packed with features. Starting with the tools quick fix setting interface. This feature is petty cool. Instead of using a screwdriver or a paddle to flip, this tool has a lever on top that blends nicely with the tools ergonomics. When you move the full to its full 3 o'clock position, it depresses the locking mechanism and releases the tools bit. It also has a range of 10,000 - 21,000 OPM speed range which makes it great for multiple materials. One small feature I like is the location of the on/off button. This little feature makes single handed operation very easy.

The Dremel Multi-Max Oscillating Tool MM45 has a quick-boost feaure which is meant to help maintain speed through materials. When i was testing this out i actually took note of how little the speed of the blade was when cutting through some screws and nails embedded in wood. It also features a nice long 7ft. cord which comes in handy.

PRICE:

With all of the included blades and especially the sanding pad, I personally think a $129.00 price point at Home Depot is a bargain. For tools like this that are capable of a multitude of functions, I do truly believe they're worth the investment. You'll have this Dremel Multi-max for a long long time, and it'll pay itself off time and time again.

MY THOUGHTS

Dremel Multi-Max 5 Amp Variable Speed Corded Oscillating Multi-Tool Kit

Personally, I think at this price point with all of the included bits and blades, this is a solid purchase. DREMEL has a great track record for multi-tools and has been in the market for a long time. With the new locking tooth configuration, and single hand opperation. I believe this tool can acomodate a huge array of functions needed on site for most woodorking and carpentry installations. Now the one draw back is that its a corded tool. Which isnt always a bad thing. I sometimes prefer to have cords for tools that aren't in my battery systems. If i am on site and have no battery because its a different brand, that makes things all the slower. So, gimme that cord. The tool does feel a bit plasticy, but as i said, i do believe this is a solid purchase for anyone from DIY to PRO.

BONUS - Tool Accessory Kits

Some awesome functions of a tool like this one is the ability to add on to the platform. Right now, Home Depot is offering some awesome accessory packages to go along with the Dremel Multi-Max. These accessories are ideal for removal of harder materials such as vinyl flooring, carpeting, old coast of paint/varnish and tile adhesives. They also work on a variety of materials such as wood and metal. So you're getting a huge value for the price of this specific kit.
