Milwaukee STUD Tape Measure & 142 Piece Shockwave Bit Set Review

To wrap up this quarter of reviews, i thought it would be cool to share some of the "daily use" type tools in bundle, instead of just throwing out more posts for yinz to deal with. So here we're going to be looking at two things from Milwaukee, first is the Milwaukee STUD tape measure and second is their 142 Shockwave Bit set. Both of these are super solid, and awesome additions to any shop or trades person.

SPECIFICATIONS:

The Milwaukee STUD Tape Measure makes for an awesome gift and pairs nicely with the above battery pack and light for someone who is looking to expand their tool arsenal with extra accessories. The Milwaukee STUD Tape Measure features EXO360 Blade technology meaning it delivers the longest lasting rip and wear resistant tape measure blade. There is nothing worse than a rusty tape measure and this technology prevents that from happening with the Milwaukee Stud Tape Measure. Another great feature the Milwaukee Stud Tape Measure has is a fully reinforced impact resistant frame that can survive up to 80ft. drops. That makes it okay to throw this thing in your tool box and you won’t have to worry about it denting or breaking. Lastly, the Milwaukee 25ft. Stud Tape Measure has up to 10ft. tape standout which is pretty high compared to the competition.

The Milwaukee 142 Piece Shockwave bit set is another great value bundle launched recently as well. The new technological advantage to this bit set is, its Optimized Shock Zone geometry absorbs peak torque and prevents breaking. Which we all know we snap and break bits all the time. Especially if you're using them on a day to day basis. Another feature i love is the Precise Fit Custom Machined Tip that prevents stripping and reduces wobble. I have used TONS of bits in my life as a maker, and we all know how much of a pain it is to have a wobbly bit, you don't realize it actually sucks until youre 2 hours into a project, and you cant figure out why nothing is screwing straight. So this is an awesome addition.

The full set includes:

  • (1) compact bit holder
  • (1) 5/16 in. magnetic nut driver
  • Insert driver bits: (6) P1, (20) P2, (2) PR2, (8) P3, (4) SQ1, (12) SQ2, (4) SQ3, (3) T10, (5) T15, (8) T20, (14) T25, (4) T27, (5) T30, (1) SL #4, (1) SL #6, (1) SL #8, (3) SL #10, (1) SL #12, (1) Hex 2,5 mm, (1) Hex 3 mm, (1) Hex 4 mm, (1) Hex 5 mm, (1) Hex 6 mm, (1) Hex 1/16 in., (1) Hex 5/64 in., (1) Hex 3/32 in., (1) Hex 7/64 in., (1) Hex 1/8 in., (1) Hex 9/64 in., (1) Hex 5/32 in., (2) Hex 3/16 in., (2) Hex 1/4 in.
  • 2 in. power bits: (1) P1, (4) P2, (1) P3, (3) SQ2, (1) SQ3, (2) T20, (4) T25
  • Hex drill bits:  (1) 1/16 in., (1) 5/64 in., (1) 3/32 in., (1) 7/64 in., (1) 1/8 in., (1) 3/16 in.

PRICING:

The Milwaukee 25ft. STUD Tape Measure come in at just under $25 at $24.97. Which is comparable to the market for a 25ft. quality tape. What is awesome is the 142 piece Shock wave Bit set is under $30 bucks for all 142 pieces with a price of $29.88. IMO both are priced very well, and there is a ton of value in the 142 piece set.  You get an incredible number of bits that are quality and will last for years, for a great price.

MY THOUGHTS:

Both products are great additions for anyone looking to step it up from their super cheap tapes and bits. I am a firm believer in investing in your tools, and not just buying what is cheapest and most affordable. These are both no exception. I use both daily, and truly love them.
