I’ve reviewed a handful of Milwaukee products - ranging from measuring tape to a cordless chainsaw - and each time I find a distinct level of effortless convenience in their products. As someone who’s always looking for the best tools for the job, I was hype to try out the Milwaukee M18 FUEL Cordless SAWZALL Reciprocating Saw.
Much like the other tools I’ve tried out amidst Milwaukee’s M18 collection (featuring 175+ tools), I was blown away but the power packed into the Milwaukee M18 FUEL Cordless SAWZALL. What makes this thing so great? I’ll break it down for you.
Reciprocating saws are known for their Godzilla-level power of destruction. Typically used in demolition, monsters like the Milwaukee M18 FUEL Cordless SAWZALL don’t have an automatic home in workshops like mine. But man -- have I been missing out. Quoted to cut everything from wood to stainless steel 30% faster than competitors, the Cordless SAWZALL cuts down so much time while breaking down materials for my builds. This leaves me more time when building last-minute birthday gifts or taking on more complicated builds.
I love this thing for cutting through the metal in my workshop. As you may have seen, I’ve taken on some industrial build projects that incorporate square metal tubing recently. But as a wood guy, I don’t want to wear down my wood blades trying to cut hard metals for these industrial builds. Let’s just say this thing cuts metal like butter with a hot knife. The Milwaukee M18 FUEL Cordless SAWZALL tackles black pipe, angle iron, stainless steel, and other high-strength alloys like a pro, allowing me to save my woodworking tools for -- well, woodworking.
I paired my Milwaukee M18 FUEL Cordless SAWZALL with the Milwaukee 7 TPI Carbide TORCH Metal Blade for cutting through some metal for a recent build to put this thing to the test. The Carbide TORCH blade boasts 50x the lifespan of standard blades even in thick and extreme metal cutting applications, meaning this thing will last and last through a handful of future applications. Does this mean more industrial and metal builds in the future? I’ll think about it. But in the meantime, I can’t wait to start incorporating this alarmingly-powerful duo into my projects.
Here’s the thing; there’s a lot of factors to sort through when picking out a solid reciprocating saw. You have to choose the power you’re looking for, the battery life, whether you need a cordless saw, the price of replacement blades, and more -- it’s basically harder than naming your future children.
The Milwaukee M18 FUEL Cordless SAWZALL leaves the guesswork out. Cordless with an 18V Lithium-Ion battery, super fast, and coming with a 5-year warranty, you know you’re getting a damn good tool for your money. Not to mention, replacement blades - which have a hefty lifespan themselves - are a bargain, and I can’t turn a blind eye to that kind of value.
Whether you’re a builder, contractor, or somewhere in between, you’re gonna love the power and speed the Milwaukee M18 FUEL Cordless SAWZALL brings to the table. It’s simple to use and super lightweight, making the speed and power feel like a fortunate afterthought to its design. Even if you’re not a big metal-working guy, this thing will certainly come in handy around the shop for a variety of projects, and not to mention all of the applications in and around your home. Best of all, the super-handy and affordable replacement blades turn it into one of the most versatile tools in your shop for supplying crazy clean cuts and Godzilla-style power.
