I grew up as a total backyard guy, helping both my father and grandfather with projects around the house and much like the projects I tackle now. At the end of the day, we’d sit down together and relax, tuning into Extreme Makeover: Home Edition whenever possible.

While no longer running, this show was the best. For those unfamiliar, a team of designers, builders, and volunteers would build a new home for a deserving family in just one week. From start to finish, the show was a heartfelt dedication of time and skill to a family in need -- but what I always loved was the demolition portion of the show (which the families watched from a live stream).

Perhaps this has been the inspiration for my love of demolition, or maybe it’s just a giant release of testosterone that men should be entitled to every month or so. Either way, there’s nothing quite like ripping down walls and railings and cabinets to make way for new and beautiful projects.

As I’ve tackled a number of home renovation projects myself, I’ve realized that I can’t do it all myself, and there’s nothing quite as frustrating as having your demolition brought to a screeching halt over some stripped bolts.

I was thrilled when the Home Depot asked me to try out the Husky 7pc Dual Direction Extraction Socket Set SAE & MM -- just in the nick of time for my own purposes. What makes this extraction socket set so great? Check it out below and let me know what you think!

Husky 7pc Dual Direction Extraction Socket Set: The Specs

Metric & SAE Extraction Sockets with Incredible Torque

I’ve been tackling my home renovation one project at a time; starting in the master bedroom and slowly leading down to our main living space, I’ve already made a lot of progress. I like to think about the amount of demolition I’ll get to do by the time the remodel is completed (but let’s be real, it will probably never be fully ‘completed’).

Whether I’m replacing a banister, working in the bathroom, or tackling a reclaimed wood project in my shop, I seem to always encounter some old, stripped-out bolts that give me a headache trying the remove. This is exactly where the Husky 7pc Dual Direction Extraction Socket Sets in SAE & MM come in handy. Husky really pulled out all the stops in creating the perfect extraction socket set, leaving next to nothing to be desired when I’m tackling these tasks.

The Husky 7pc Dual Direction Extraction Socket Sets include 5 sized of extraction sockets (your choice between SAE and metric sizes) and two impact adapters in ¼-in. and ⅜-in. Sizes. Created with tapered entry, these sockets easily sit onto even severely damaged fasteners without having to hammer them into place.  These extraction sockets are crafted with a bi-directional design and Chrome Molybdenum steel for superior strength when removing even the most damaged fasteners, allowing you to rely on your set for a number of applications. Use them with impact guns, ratchets, wrenches, or pliers for added versatility.

Great Value for These Must-Have Sets

I’ve found myself grabbing for the Husky 7pc Dual Direction Extraction Socket Sets quite frequently lately, and let me say that they have been such a life-saver. These extraction sockets are one of the things you really don’t fully appreciate until you are in desperate need of them and don’t need to make a special trip to the Home Depot in the midst of a project. Best of all, the Husky 7pc Dual Direction Extraction Socket Sets output up to 5x more torque than competitors and have a 10x longer impact life capacity, so you know you’re getting a set that’s truly the best in the business:

Husky 7pc Dual Direction Extraction Socket Set MM: $19.97

Husky 7pc Dual Direction Extraction Socket Set SAE: $19.97

My Thoughts:

Extraction Socket Sets are an Absolute Must-Have

There’s nothing worse than encountering an issue during your home renovation or workshop project and realizing you don’t have the proper tools for the job. I’ve caught myself in the dilemma many times, doing everything I could to try to remove corroded and stripped bolts and having to face failure (and a subsequent walk of shame to The Home Depot). So do yourself a favor before tackling your next project and grab yourself a Husky 7pc Dual Direction Extraction Socket Set in MM or SAE -- you’ll be glad you got ahead of your issues and purchased a quality product.
