After watching a lot of TV from being stuck home in quarantine, I realized my workshop needed a new addition. Something great. A never-before-seen item that was cool and exciting. So I decided to build a fish tank. In one of the shows, I’ve been binging, Tanked, these professionals make extremely lavish and elaborate fish tanks for their wealthy clients. But since I don’t have the time or money to replicate these tanks, I decided to make a mallet that looks like a fish tank instead. I decided to make a mallet in case I wanted a tool to whack something with.
Learn how I took on this seemingly impossible challenge now! If you’re following along at home or want to try it out for yourself, be sure to take a look at my video below.
For this project, I used the most expensive wood I had in my shop, which was walnut. To create the dead blow, I filled my mallet with spent 45 bullet casings. You might be asking yourself, “Why does John have these bullet casings lying around?” It’s because I poured 5,000 bullet casings into a table over the summer. I used some of the leftover ones from the project along with some BB pellets to fill up the mallet. Check out the rest of my video to see how my weird Epoxy project turned fish tank ended up.
