If you follow me on social media, you’ve seen that I’ve been taking on some really sweet projects recently. I’ve shared some pictures from the remodel of my 100-year-old home in Pittsburgh with plenty of surprises (read: stunning brick fireplaces) and loads of craftsmanship put in. If you don’t follow me on social media, that’s kind of rude and it’s about time that you do.

This remodel has led me to do some serious demolition across the home, which is why I’m super excited to share with you my two favorite hammers used in my remodel process. The DEWALT 4LB FG Engineer Hammer & 16oz. Smooth Hammer have really been lifesavers in this project and I’m sure they’ll make great additions to your shop or at-home workbench too.

The DEWALT 4LB FG Engineer Hammer & 16oz. Smooth Hammer Bring Power & Precision

When it comes to a home remodel, the demolition and construction aren’t quick, quiet, and easy tasks. They require some serious power and focus to ensure that you’re getting the project done right. In the process of tearing down walls, installing new floors from the Home Depot, and building a new closet, I’ve definitely disturbed my neighbors and startled my dogs -- but all’s well that ends well.

All this commotion means one thing though; I’m definitely using the right tools for the job. I’ve used the DEWALT 4LB Fiberglass Engineer Hammer for almost all of my demolition processes and love how comfortable the over mold textured grip is when I’m using it. This ergonomic grip gives me the perfect amount of control while swinging four pounds of fiberglass hammer into the drywall. What’s especially great about the DEWALT 4LB Fiberglass Engineer Hammer is that it’s designed with overstrike protection so that I have the precision I need without overpowering my home and causing damage where I don’t want it. That being said, the DEWALT 4LB Fiberglass Engineer Hammer ensures I have power exactly where I want it with 2x striking force and a concentrated strike face that ensures I hit the right spot each and every time.

Once demolition is done, I head back in with the DEWALT 16oz. Smooth Hammer for my reconstructing purposes. I really love this hammer because it’s designed with optimal weight distribution for smooth motions. The oval-shaped strike page makes it each to hit the right spot when hammering and securing wood. Additionally, the DEWALT 16oz. Smooth Hammer has a convenient side nail puller and slender rip claw, making it great for delicate demotion processes too.

Affordable & Efficient Tools for a Variety of Applications

These two hammers combine to create the perfect duo in my home remodel, supplying precision and smart features that leave me asking for nothing more (except maybe a new speedboat, but that’s beside that point). As vital tools within my arsenal, I don’t mind paying a little extra to get a tool that will always get the job done. With great tools from DEWALT, this trustworthiness doesn’t come with a markup, though. The DEWALT 4LB FG Engineer Hammer & 16oz. Smooth Hammer are both super reasonably priced and will be a great facet to any workshop.

DEWALT 4LB FG Engineer Hammer: $21.97

DEWALT 16oz. Smooth Hammer: $20.37

My Final Thoughts:

The DEWALT 4LB FG Engineer Hammer & 16oz. Smooth Hammer have played integral roles in my home remodel and are sure to be put to plenty of use in my workshop. As I look to tackle more precise, craftsman-style projects, I’m going to need hand tools like these to get the job done, and I know these great tools from DEWALT will help me finish out my projects with ease. Try these out for yourself -- I promise you won’t be disappointed.
