DEWALT 12 in. Double-Bevel Sliding Miter Saw + Jobsite Radio

DEWALT 12 in. Double-Bevel Sliding Miter Saw

It’s kind of strange to review a miter saw and Bluetooth speaker on the same review, but since they both are made by DeWalt I figured, why not! This DEWALT 12in Miter Saw is a great addition to any workshop and held up to the DEWALT name when I tested it out. The DEWALT 12in Miter Saw includes a 12” Compound Miter Saw, Blade Wrench, Dust Bag, and a 12” Carbide Blade. While the bundle doesn’t include anything out of the ordinary, it does have tall sliding fence support and is lightweight. The design of this saw is also extremely compact, so when you pair that with the fact that it weighs about 56 lbs., you definitely can see how it can be easily transported to a job site without taking up too much room. The DEWALT 12in Miter Saw has an adjustable detent plate, cam lock miter handle and detent override. These features allow the DEWALT 12in Miter Saw to be an extremely accurate miter saw with an increased level of productivity due to the 10 positive stops. Being reassured that you’re getting an accurate Miter Saw is key,  and DEWALT does just that with this piece of equipment.

The only downside to this miter saw is that it is corded. However, I think that the lightweight and compact design outweighs the fact that you’re dealing with a cord. I mean, think about it, something being cordless is more  of a luxury than a necessity so I think we all have just been spoiled with these cordless tools.

DEWALT Jobsite Radio

This was a fun one for me to review because it wasn’t really a tool but is something that I have found myself using around the shop and really like having! I like to listen to music while I work and although I typically have earphones in because of all the background noise, this definitely is a cool thing to have, especially on days that I am doing work in the office. One of the best things about the Dewalt Bluetooth Speaker is that it is lightweight and compact for easy storage. Whether you are using it in your own shop, or taking it with you to a job site, its portable and easy to move around. You can throw this in your tool bag without having a huge amount of added weight which is a big advantage. Just like any Dewalt tool, this speaker has a durable design and is able to withstand any tough jobsite. Like I said, its portable so the fact that it can take a beating and not break is huge, especially in my line of work. Lastly, you can connect your device via Bluetooth up to 100ft. which is a pretty significant distance. Overall, this is a great Bluetooth speaker to have. The durability alone is enough to appeal to someone in my line of work and the battery lasts for up to 15 hours so you can use it all day at a job site, and charge it overnight which is super convenient.

PRICING:

The DEWALT Cordless Miter Saw comes in right under $350 at $349. This pricing is what you would expect to see for a miter saw. This saw should last you for a significantly long time and any good miter saw is going to be a bit of an investment so given the lightweight compact design of this, it’s a good bang for your buck.

The DEWALT Bluetooth Speaker is right in the ball park of any quality Bluetooth speaker coming in at $99. Keep in mind, you’re paying for durability here too so it definitely is worth it. Also, the long lasting battery is another super important thing to keep in mind and you get your moneys worth with this one.

MY THOUGHTS:

DEWALT has proved over time that they're one of the best brands in the industry. I do believe this holds consistent with just about anything they put out these days. I have a lot of DEWALT tools, and with the usage of other brands and lots of miter saws specifically. I have to say this saw is a great buy. My biggest dislikes are that it has a HUGE footprint. Which happens with any rail system. This is only an issue with a dedicated workshop tho. It also has average dust collection at best. Which once again, is a dedicate shop concern more than a job site. The perks are the saw is super accurate and has a really solid bed with positive stops at every measurement you'll need for standard carpentry. IMO, very solid buy and you wont need another for a long long time.
