One of the things that I love about the up and coming tool world is more and more companies are coming out with cordless tools. The DeWalt DCW210B Random Orbit Sander allows you to sand without the hassle of a cord. The fact that this thing is cordless also makes it portable which is another convenience that is always nice to have. This tool is apart of the DEWALT 20-volt Max battery system and while the batteries and charger are sold separately, if you have any of the other DeWalt 20-volt Max tools, just know that you won’t need a new battery for this sander. As stated above, the DeWalt Cordless Random Orbit Sander packs a pretty mean punch for its size and functions on a variable speed dial that goes from 8,000-12,000 OPM. This allows it to be used for a variety of projects and gives you more control. Lastly, theDeWalt Random Orbit Sander utilizes hook and loop pads that are designed for easy replacement.
Price: For a durable, quality, sander the price is just right for this. Coming in right under $120 at $119. Now, this is a bit pricey for a sander, i will admit that. And, unfortunately this is for the tool only, so no batteries. This is a bit on the higher side in my honest opinion. But the tool is solid, If you're on the DeWalt platform already, then i would for sure consider adding this to the shop.
Cordless is the future, there is no doubt. But, that being said, I don't think you always have to be the first to jump onto a new cordless tool because you can. And in this instance, considering price and capabilities of the tool, I would probably wait a while to add this one to the bag. Its an awesome little sander, and is great for what it is made for. But for $119 with no batteries, i would probably wait for a deal on this one before i invest.
